Holistic massage is the gentle, rhythmical stroking and kneading of the body’s soft tissues, soothing away tensions and relaxing and balancing mind and body. With this approach the whole person is treated, rather than just the symptoms of disease, anxiety or excessive stress. During the sessions, the Holistic Practitioner might use aromatherapy, essential oils and relaxation music to create the perfect atmosphere according to the client’s needs. Some of the benefits are: releasing stress and muscle tension, reduce blood pressure, improves circulation and flexibility in the muscles and tissues, improves posture, strengthens the immune system, and brings a sense of peace and calm to the body.
As a Professional Massage Therapist, I have gained extensive experience as a Swedish Massage Therapist with general population and also working as a Sports/Deep Tissue Massage Therapist with AFL clubs and athletes in Melbourne. Some examples of the Massage techniques that I use are: Gliding, Kneading, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Transverse Frictions, Compression, Cross-Fibre, Swedish, PNF stretches. Finally, by working in the medical area as a physician with other healthcare practitioner such as physiotherapist and sports physician, I have acquired valuable experience and knowledge of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions which I utilise in my daily practice.
